Three Maples, founded by the trio of friends behind Land Haus Brooklyn — Michael, Maria, and Matthew — is a beloved neighborhood spot in Bed-Stuy, serving comfort grub and top-notch cocktails. Inspired by their down-to-earth yet impeccable service, my team and I created a brand identity for Three Maples that combines the warmth of a family-owned eatery with a touch of sophistication. Blending nostalgic elements, such as hand-drawn menu items, with upscale details like gold leaf accents, I designed a brand identity worthy of a stalwart Brooklyn institution.

The menus at Three Maples pay homage to the timeless grid of old-school guest checks. Each section has its’ own page, featuring custom illustrations of staple menu selections.

We asked the owners for pictures from their childhood and hand-illustrated core menu items to bring a family-owned feeling to their menus.

The founders of Three Maples adhere to the motto "Do it nice or do it twice," reflecting their commitment to excellence in both food and service. We printed the phrase on matchbooks for customers to take with them following their meal.
